Terms of Service

Version 1.0. Effective 1 November 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and LinkWrangler Pty Ltd (ACN 694 414 152, ABN 38 694 414 152), an Australian company ("LinkWrangler", "we", "us"), for your use of CataRank, our product findability and search visibility platform for online stores, including the website at catarank.com, the CataRank app, and any related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, clicking "I agree" or using the Service, you accept these terms. If you're using the Service for a business or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf, and "you" means that organisation.

Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

The short version

  • CataRank reads data and recommends changes. It never changes your website, store, Google accounts or ads, and it never contacts anyone on your behalf.
  • Search, shopping and AI data comes from third parties and is often an estimate. We don't guarantee rankings, traffic or sales.
  • Review AI suggestions before you use them. You're responsible for what you publish and any messages you send.
  • Use the Service for your own business. Don't resell our data, share logins or scrape the Service.
  • You own your data. You can export it and close your account at any time.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Definitions

  • Account: your CataRank account and the users in it.
  • Connected Service: a third-party service you connect to CataRank, such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Merchant Centre, Google Ads or BigCommerce.
  • Customer Data: data you or your users put into the Service, and data we import from your Connected Services on your instruction.
  • Outputs: reports, scores, recommendations, briefs, drafts, suggested structured data and other results the Service produces for you, including those produced with AI.
  • Third-Party Data: data from providers we use to deliver the Service, such as search results, keyword volumes, shopping results, AI answer data and public web pages.
  • Plan: the free or paid plan you're on, including its usage limits.

2. The Service

2.1 What CataRank does. CataRank helps online stores understand and improve how their products are found across search engines, shopping results, AI assistants, marketplaces and other channels. It tracks rankings, audits websites, analyses competitors and products, and suggests improvements.

2.2 Recommend only. The Service gives you information and recommendations. It does not make changes to your website, store, product catalogue, Google accounts or advertising, and it does not send emails or other messages on your behalf. You decide what to do with the Outputs, and you're responsible for any changes you make or messages you send.

2.3 No guaranteed results. Search engines, marketplaces and AI assistants control their own results and change them often. We don't promise any ranking, traffic, citation, sale or other outcome from using the Service or following its recommendations.

2.4 Changes to the Service. We improve the Service over time and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a material feature you're paying for, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice where practical. If the change significantly reduces what you get from your paid Plan, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees for the remaining period.

2.5 Beta features. Some features may be labelled beta, preview or "soon". They may be incomplete, change without notice or be withdrawn, and they're provided without any availability commitment.

3. Accounts

3.1 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 and use the Service for business purposes.

3.2 Your account. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your login details secure, and tell us promptly at support@linkwrangler.com if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

3.3 Users and roles. Each person who uses your Account needs their own login. You're responsible for everything done under your Account, including by users you invite, and for removing access when someone leaves.

3.4 Suspension for security. We may temporarily suspend access if we reasonably believe your Account is compromised or being used in breach of these terms. We'll tell you why and restore access once the issue is resolved.

4. Your websites and Connected Services

4.1 Sites you add. Only add websites and stores that you own or are authorised to manage. By adding one, you authorise us to crawl its public pages and analyse it to provide the Service.

4.2 Connecting other services. When you connect a service such as Google or BigCommerce, you authorise us to access the data that service makes available, using the permissions you approve. We request read-only access wherever the service offers it, and we use that access only to provide the Service to you. You can disconnect a Connected Service at any time in your CataRank settings or in that service's own settings.

4.3 Google data. CataRank's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle Google user data.

4.4 Their terms apply too. Your use of each Connected Service is also governed by that provider's own terms. We're not responsible for Connected Services, their availability or changes they make to their data or access.

4.5 Competitor and public data. The Service lets you analyse competitors and other public websites using publicly available information and Third-Party Data. Our crawler identifies itself and respects robots.txt. You must not use the Service to overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any website.

5. Data accuracy and AI features

5.1 Estimates. Much of the data in the Service, including search volumes, keyword difficulty, traffic estimates, price comparisons, competitor data and AI answer results, comes from third parties or is estimated. Search results vary by location, device, time and personalisation, and AI answers vary between runs. We work to make the data useful and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it is complete, current or correct.

5.2 AI features. Some features use artificial intelligence, including to suggest keywords and topics, rate product fit, write content briefs, summarise research and draft outreach messages. AI Outputs can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. Review them before you rely on or publish them. You're responsible for any content you publish, including that it's accurate, lawful and doesn't infringe anyone's rights, and for any product or health claims it makes.

5.3 How AI features handle your data. We send only the information needed to produce the Output to our AI provider. We don't use your Customer Data to train general-purpose AI models, and our AI provider doesn't use it to train its models. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5.4 Not professional advice. Outputs are general information to help you make your own decisions. They are not legal, financial, medical, regulatory or other professional advice.

6. Outreach and Leads

6.1 You send, not us. Features such as Get featured and Leads help you find publishers and other sites and draft messages to them. CataRank never sends these messages. You decide whether to contact anyone and you send any message yourself.

6.2 Contact details. Leads shows business contact details that websites publish themselves, with the page each detail came from. Use them only to contact people about their published business role, and respect any statement that they don't want unsolicited messages.

6.3 Anti-spam and privacy laws. You're responsible for complying with anti-spam and privacy laws when you contact anyone, including the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) in Australia. For example, commercial messages must identify you and include a way to opt out. Draft messages include these elements, but you must check them before sending.

7. Acceptable use

You must not, and must not let anyone else:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful, or to promote illegal products or services;
  • share logins, or give anyone outside your Account access to the Service;
  • resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the Service, its data or Outputs as a data product, except for sharing reports with your own clients, colleagues or advisers in the normal course of your business;
  • scrape, crawl or extract data from the Service by automated means, or exceed your Plan's limits by using multiple accounts or automation;
  • use the Service, its data or Outputs to build a competing product or dataset, or to train AI models;
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or try to access the Service's source code, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security, or test its vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • upload malware or content that infringes anyone's rights; or
  • use the Service to harass anyone or to send spam.

You can report misuse to support@linkwrangler.com.

8. Plans, fees and payment

8.1 Free and paid Plans. We may offer a free Plan and paid Plans. Plans differ by usage limits, such as the number of products, keywords, pages or sites. Current Plans and prices are shown on our website. We may change the free Plan, including its limits, with reasonable notice.

8.2 Usage limits. Each Plan includes usage limits. When you reach a limit, the related features may pause until your next billing period or until you upgrade. We won't charge you for extra usage without your agreement.

8.3 Billing. Paid Plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. GST and other applicable taxes are added where required, and we'll provide tax invoices.

8.4 Automatic renewal. Paid Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

8.5 Upgrades and downgrades. Upgrades take effect straight away and are charged pro rata. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period. Downgrading may reduce your limits, and data above the new limits may stop updating.

8.6 Failed payments. If a payment fails, we'll let you know and try again. If it's still unpaid 14 days after we notify you, we may move your Account to the free Plan or suspend paid features until payment is made.

8.7 Refunds. Fees aren't refundable for partial periods or unused features, except where these terms say otherwise or where the law, including the Australian Consumer Law, requires a refund.

8.8 Billing questions. Contact accounts@linkwrangler.com. Please raise any disputed charge within 60 days of the charge.

9. Your data and our intellectual property

9.1 You own your Customer Data. You give us permission to host, copy, process and display your Customer Data only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service, and as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for having the rights and consents needed for any data you put into the Service.

9.2 Outputs. As between you and us, you may use Outputs for your own business, including publishing content and sharing reports, subject to section 7. Outputs that contain Third-Party Data remain subject to that data provider's rights, and similar Outputs may be given to other users.

9.3 Aggregated data. We may create de-identified, aggregated statistics from use of the Service to operate, improve and secure it, for example to understand which features are used or to calibrate estimates. Aggregated data never identifies you, your users or your sites. It does not include data received from Google APIs, except as the Google API Services User Data Policy permits.

9.4 Our intellectual property. We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, data compilations and the CataRank and LinkWrangler names and logos. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription. They don't transfer any ownership.

9.5 Feedback. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Confidentiality

Each of us will keep the other's non-public business information confidential and use it only for the purposes of these terms, with the same care we use for our own confidential information and at least reasonable care. This doesn't apply to information that is public through no fault of the receiving party, was already known to it, is independently developed, or must be disclosed by law (with notice to the other party where lawful).

11. Availability and support

11.1 We aim to keep the Service available and use reasonable care and skill to do so, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where practical.

11.2 Data collection runs on schedules and depends on Connected Services and third-party providers. If a source is delayed or unavailable, results may be delayed. The Service shows this as delayed data rather than a result.

11.3 Support is available at support@linkwrangler.com.

12. Australian Consumer Law

12.1 Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12.2 Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a breach of a non-excludable guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

13. Disclaimers

Subject to section 12, the Service, Outputs and Third-Party Data are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and conditions not expressly set out in these terms, including about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and results.

14. Limitation of liability

14.1 Subject to section 12 and to the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, sales, data, goodwill or opportunity, however caused.

14.2 Subject to section 12 and to the extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms or the Service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or AUD $100.

14.3 These limits don't apply to liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. They also don't limit your obligation to pay fees or your liability under section 15.

14.4 Each party's liability is reduced to the extent the other party contributed to the loss.

15. Indemnities

15.1 By you. You'll indemnify us against third-party claims, and the reasonable costs of dealing with them, to the extent they arise from your Customer Data, content you publish, messages you send, sites you add without authority, or your breach of section 7 or of the law.

15.2 By us. We'll indemnify you against third-party claims that the Service, as we provide it, infringes their Australian intellectual property rights. This doesn't cover claims arising from your Customer Data, Third-Party Data, Outputs you change, or combining the Service with things we didn't provide. If such a claim is made, we may modify the Service, get you the right to keep using it, or end your subscription and refund prepaid fees for the remaining period.

15.3 Process. The party seeking an indemnity must tell the other promptly, let it control the defence and settlement (without admitting liability on the first party's behalf without its consent), and give reasonable help at the other party's cost.

16. Term, cancellation and termination

16.1 Term. These terms apply from when you accept them until your Account is closed.

16.2 Cancelling. You can cancel a paid Plan at any time in your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. You can close your Account entirely from your settings or by emailing support@linkwrangler.com.

16.3 By us. We may suspend or close your Account:

  • if you materially breach these terms and don't fix the breach within 14 days of our notice;
  • straight away, if your use is unlawful, threatens the security or integrity of the Service, or harms other users or third parties; or
  • with 60 days' notice for any reason, in which case we'll refund prepaid fees for the period after closure.

16.4 Your data after closure. You can export your data until your Account closes and for 30 days afterwards. After that, we delete it as described in our Privacy Policy, except where we must keep records by law, for example financial records. Access tokens for Connected Services are deleted when you disconnect them or when your Account closes.

16.5 What continues. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination do, including sections 9, 10, 12 to 15 and 18 to 19.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we'll give you at least 14 days' notice by email to the Account owner and in the app before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect and we'll refund any prepaid fees for the remaining period. Changes needed for legal or security reasons may take effect sooner, and we'll tell you as soon as we can. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

18. Disputes and governing law

18.1 Talk first. If a dispute arises, please contact us at support@linkwrangler.com. Both of us will try in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days before starting formal proceedings, except where urgent relief is needed.

18.2 Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Commonwealth courts sitting there. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

19. General

19.1 Entire agreement. These terms, our Privacy Policy and any Plan details shown at purchase are the whole agreement between us about the Service.

19.2 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or restructure of our business, with notice to you, and these terms and our Privacy Policy will continue to apply.

19.3 Subcontractors. We use service providers to help run the Service, listed in our Privacy Policy. We remain responsible for them under these terms.

19.4 Events outside our control. Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as outages at third-party providers, natural disasters or government action. If such an event stops the Service for more than 30 consecutive days, either of us may end the affected subscription and you'll receive a refund of prepaid fees for the unused period.

19.5 Sanctions. You must not use the Service in breach of Australian or other applicable sanctions or export laws.

19.6 Severability and waiver. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right straight away doesn't waive it.

19.7 Notices. We'll send notices to the email address of your Account owner. Legal notices to us go to privacy@linkwrangler.com with "Legal notice" in the subject line.

19.8 Relationship. We're independent contractors. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship.
